Taking It to Metal – Stainless Steel Seed Folder

One of our most frequently produced parts recently received a major upgrade. Green Garden Products approached us looking for a stronger, longer-lasting version of their seed folder, leading us to explore metal additive manufacturing as a solution.

Working with one of our manufacturing partners, we produced the part in 316L stainless steel, creating a fully metal component capable of handling demanding production environments. While metal 3D printing comes at a higher cost than traditional printing, it offers exceptional durability and performance. This project highlights our ability to provide outsourced metal 3D printing solutions for customers who require materials beyond the capabilities of standard plastics.

Beyond 3D Printing – Custom Laser Engraving

While this project isn’t a 3D print, it showcases an exciting new capability here at Vertexforged. We recently created a custom laser-etched and laser-cut sign for our Customer Experience Specialist, Lily, using the latest addition to our workshop.

Our new laser system allows us to engrave and cut a variety of materials, including wood, leather, metal, and more. We’re excited to begin offering laser-engraved and laser-cut products in the near future. If you have a project you’d like engraved or cut and it fits within our 9″ x 12″ work area, feel free to reach out for a quote.

Bringing Worn Parts Back to Life – Geneva Drive Recreation

Green Garden Products recently approached us with an interesting challenge. One of their older machines had worn down a critical Geneva drive, causing it to lose the precision needed for reliable operation.

Using our blue-light 3D scanning system, we captured the remaining geometry of the original part and recreated the unworn contours through CAD modeling. The result was a replacement component that closely matched the original design, helping restore the machine’s intended function.

Precision Recreation – Improved Drain Plug Design

A customer recently brought us a drain plug with threads that were still in excellent condition, but the tightening mechanism had become worn and difficult to use. Using our blue-light 3D scanner and CAD software, we reverse engineered the original part and recreated it with the same fit and functionality as the factory component.

Rather than simply copying the original design, we took the opportunity to improve it. The worn screw-style top was replaced with a socket-driven design, making installation and removal quicker, easier, and more reliable for the customer’s employees. This project is a great example of how 3D scanning and custom design can not only replace hard-to-find parts but also enhance them for everyday use.

Green Garden Products – Bulk Order Pulleys

Green Garden Products chose to go with our products for refurbishing their machines, placing a bulk order for seed folders and pulleys. We provided pricing for different quantities of pulleys, showcasing our tiered pricing discounts, designed to reward larger orders and longer production runs.

We’d like to extend a special thanks to Green Garden Products for their continued support. They are not only one of our best customers but also a fantastic partner to collaborate with. This project highlights our ability to provide scalable solutions and customized pricing for bulk orders, making sure every client’s needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Pawsitively the Best – Custom Fathers Day Frisbee

For Father’s Day, our very own Customer Experience Specialist, Lily, went above and beyond to make her dad feel special, because sometimes, the best gifts come on four paws. She helped create a custom frisbee with a heartfelt message just for the occasion: “Best Ruffin Dad Ever.”

This project wasn’t just about a frisbee, it was about celebrating the bond between a dog and her human. From choosing the perfect message to seeing the joy it brought, Lily proved that creativity, thoughtfulness, and a wagging tail that makes any gift unforgettable.

Jet Ski Audio Upgrade – Custom Seadoo Speaker Adapters

We were recently tasked by a local Seadoo mechanic with creating custom speaker adapters for a 2025 Seadoo. This project came with several unique challenges, including designing enclosures that fit seamlessly into the original speaker housings while accommodating upgraded speakers.

In addition, the design needed to incorporate tweeters positioned above the main speakers and angle the sound toward the driver for an improved listening experience on the water. The final result was a tailored solution that enhanced both functionality and sound quality, while maintaining a clean, factory-style fit.

Southcoast Trucking – Custom Translucent Rocker Switches

Southcoast Trucking recently partnered with us to create custom translucent rocker switches for their Peterbilt dump truck. This project required precise adjustments to ensure a perfect fit with the stock Peterbilt switch housing.

We produced the switches in polyethylene glycol (PETG) which balance strength with the translucency needed for their application. This project is a great example of how custom 3D printing can provide practical solutions for unique automotive applications.

3D Printed Cityscape – A Unique Graduation Gift

Recently we were tasked with creating a custom 3D printed cityscape designed to highlight a campus with detailed buildings and roadways.

This piece was ordered as a graduation gift, giving the recipient a lasting keepsake of their time at the university. Projects like this showcase how 3D printing can turn memories into meaningful keepsakes, perfect for celebrating important milestones.

Green Garden Products – Seed Folding Components

We’re excited to share our very first custom project with Green Garden, a leading North American supplier of seed packets and seed starter products. Our team was tasked with designing and producing components for their seed packaging facility, including a seed folding apparatus and custom pulleys for their folding machines.

For this project, we selected Polyethylene Glycol (PETG) for the seed folding mechanism due to its balance of durability and cost-effectiveness, while the pulleys were produced in Nylon Carbon Fiber to provide the extra strength needed for long-term performance.

We’re proud to have partnered with Green Garden on this build and look forward to seeing these parts in action as they continue to optimize their production process. A big thank-you to their team for trusting us with this project, we’re excited for what’s ahead!
